About Us
Mission Statement
Hoppy Clover Rabbit Rescue is a 501c3 foster-based nonprofit that rescues, rehabilitates, and adopts domestic rabbits while promoting proper education, spaying and neutering, and advocating for rabbit welfare.
Vision
We envision a world where domestic rabbits are recognized, respected, and protected as companion animals—free from neglect, abandonment, and misunderstanding. Through compassionate care, community education, and dedicated advocacy, we aim to build a future where every rabbit is valued and every home is an informed one.
Our Core Beliefs
Every Rabbit Matters
We believe all domestic rabbits deserve a safe, loving, and permanent home, regardless of age, breed, or background. Their lives have value, and they are worthy of care, respect, and protection and medical care.
Indoor Only Homes
We believe an indoor-only life is best for house rabbits. A "house rabbit" enjoys a sociable, stimulating, and comfortable lifestyle. Our Colorado climate, along with natural predators, makes outdoor living unsafe for house rabbits. The safety and well-being of house rabbits are always our top priority.
Advocacy Through Action
We speak out for domestic rabbits as one of the most misunderstood and neglected companion animals. HCRR advocates for responsible pet ownership and understanding about the unique needs of rabbits as pets. Through rescue, education, and community engagement, we work to elevate their status in society.
Foster Homes are the Heart of Our Mission
We believe a home environment is the most humane and enriching place for a rabbit in transition. Our foster network provides individualized care, socialization, and healing that cannot be replicated in a shelter setting.
Spaying and Neutering Saves Lives
We believe spaying and neutering is essential to prevent overpopulation, reduce health risks, and improve rabbit behavior. All rabbits in our care are sterilized before adoption.
We Are Their Voice
We are committed to being a consistent, ethical, and informed voice for domestic rabbits — advocating for their needs, safety, and future, one life at a time. We are against the exploitation of rabbits in any and all forms and do not support the breeding, ownership or promotion of rabbits, or any other animals, for the purpose of cosmetic, or other, testing, even if such testing is considered “ethically done.”
Education Prevents Suffering
We believe education is central to ending the cycle of abandonment and neglect. We actively promote accurate, up-to-date information about rabbit care, behavior, diet, and housing to the public, adopters, and fosters.
Collaboration Creates Change
We believe in the power of collaboration and strive to partner with local shelters, veterinarians, animal welfare organizations, and the wider community to increase impact, share resources, and advance rabbit welfare.
Transparency
As a nonprofit organization, we uphold the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and ethical practices. We are committed to using resources efficiently to benefit the rabbits in our care and to furthering our mission.
