Rehome
Are you looking to find a new home for your rabbit?
Unfortunately HCRR is not able to take owner surrenders, except under extreme situations. This is because our first responsibility is to the rabbits in need at local shelters, abandoned rabbits, etc. For these rabbits, our Foster Program may be their last chance.
If you have found a rabbit, or are looking to find a new home for your rabbit here are some resources:

Finding a New Home for a Rabbit (HRS pdf)

Abandonment Is Illegal in Colorado
Under Colorado law (C.R.S. § 18-9-202), it is illegal to abandon a domestic animal. Abandonment and neglect are considered acts of cruelty and are punishable by fines, jail time, and felony charges in severe cases.
At Hoppy Clover Rabbit Rescue, we work to protect rabbits from these situations and educate the public about the legal and ethical responsibility of pet ownership. If you’re unable to care for a rabbit, please contact a rescue or shelter—dumping an animal is never the answer.

**If you are in an emergency situation and cannot wait for someone else to adopt your pet, you can surrender your pet to a local shelter.
