Giving Back

We are excited that you are interested in saving a life and fostering with us! As a foster, you provide a safe, loving, temporary home to rabbits in need while we search for their furever families.

Foster Policy and Requirements

Hoppy Clover Rabbit Rescue is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and lifelong well-being of every rabbit in our care. Most of the rabbits in our care come from less than desirable situations, so we want to take great care with whom we place them.

Requirements to Foster: - Complete a Foster Application - Be 18 years of age of older. - Must not have been convicted of animal cruelty/abuse. - Must understand how to properly care for a rabbit or be willing to learn - Commit to short- or long-term care based on availability - Provide a clean, indoor setup that meets our housing standards - Be willing to spend quality time with their foster because socializing them in an important part of the healing process - Keep your foster separate from other rabbits in your home - All other pets in the home must be spayed/neutered - Communicate regularly with the rescue about the bunny’s health, behavior, and needs - Be willing to transport the rabbit to vet appointments or adoption events (we’ll work with you on availability) - Allow potential adopters to meet the bunny—virtually or in person—when ready We understand life changes happen. If at any point you cannot continue fostering, we will work quickly to transition the rabbit into another safe foster home.

Fostering
Process

Fill out a Volunteer Application and Foster Application.
Complete a phone interview with one of HCRR’s volunteers.
Let us know what supplies you will need.
Complete an initial home inspection as well as an annual home inspection. (required by the state)
Coordinate to bring home a foster rabbit!
